Every few centuries, the rise to power shifts. As London, New York City, and Dubai are currently losing firms and jobs, Singapore and Hong Kong are the fastest growing financial centers. International designers are seeing their largest growth in Asia. The Chinese New Year (the year of the dragon) is recognized worldwide today. Ahh yes, the world is witnessing that Asian countries are on the rise again — in wealth, opportunity, culture and even house music.
A couple months back, I posted one of my favorite tracks from Japanese House duo Studio Apartment. Japan is in the news again, but this time with DJ Martin Solveig and Dragonette.
Martin Solveig is a Parisian house music dj, producer and head manager of the Mixture Stereophonic records label. You will likely recall his 2011 hit Hello (featured on the Hot Six #10) and he and Dragonette are back with an equally comical, catchy beat. Coming from the same album as Hello– Big in Japan will take you to the world of lights, video games, and anime.
