Starting this edition, is Michael Jackson’s best Elvis impersonation, releasing music posthumously on his recently released “Michael” album. Remix by Hot Six fave, and Dutch mega-DJ, Chuckie, a.k.a. Clyde Sergio Narain. Nat Young, when you going to Hollywood???
Hollywood Tonight (Chuckie Remix) – Michael Jackson
Although The Hot Six has now been out for nine months, there are still some excellent tracks that we have yet to feature despite being out there for a while. The next two tracks are definitely make-ups for omissions from previous Hot Sixes. Adrian Lux joins the cavalcade of Swedish producers and DJs with this chilling vocal track. Remix by Axtone label boss, and fellow Swede, Axwell.
Teenage Crime (Axwell and Henrik B Remode) – Adrian Lux
Swedish House Mafia’s global massive follow up to career catapulting “One,” “Miami 2 Ibiza” was sorely omitted and is now back to its rightful place at the top of the Hot Six, although admittedly nine months late. Tinie is 23 year old British rapper named Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu. The video is bangin’.
Miami 2 Ibiza – Swedish House Mafia ft. Tinie Tempah
Big ups to Saba Esquire out in the great state of Michigan with another on-point rec. Alex Metric, a British DJ/Producer teams up with SHM mate and Swede, Angello. Tim Mason on the stellar remix.
Open Your Eyes (Tim Mason Festival Remix) – Alex Metric and Steve Angello
Nadia Ali, Sultan, and Ned Shepard are an unstoppable combination. The gentlemen helped produce Nadia’s 2009 album, “Embers,” and have their hands on this hot release. You gotta love Nadia, who started out as one half of IIO, and is now a solid staple of dance music vocals as a soloist and collaborator.
Call My Name (Spencer & Hill Remix) – Sultan and Ned Shepard ft. Nadia Ali
When I first listened to this track upon the release of his “4×4″ album, I fell in love. But the second half of the song went into a harsh, glitchy, Skrillex-inspired breakdown that didn’t fit with the rest of the smooth track. Big ups to Reeser for making the whole track radio-friendly and a little easier on the ears; in essence taking the best part of the track and making sure it stays good throughout.
Raise Your Weapon (Reeser Remix) – Deadmau5
